I began singing these songs in 1991 after being in Ayahuasca ceremonies in the Amazon jungle of Peru. As I began to sing these ayahuasca healing songs, being of Indigenous ancestry of the Caribbean, I immediately felt a feeling of coming and being home. This made so much sense to me when I learned of the traditional use of Ayahuasca or similar medicines that were used by my people.
Prior to learning these songs in the Amazon I worked as an Elementary School teacher on the Fort Peck reservation in Montana and on the Navajo Reservation in Arizona. While working with these communities I was introduced to their way of prayer, honouring the land and their ancestors. An opportunity came to me when I was asked to travel down to the Peruvian Amazon to translate for foreigners sitting in Ayahuasca ceremonies. After taking part in these ceremonies I developed a strong connection with Ayahuasca and with the Maestro and began to not only help with translations but to support the participants in ceremonies as well. During the time I spent with the Maestro he passed on and gifted me songs that have never left me.
My extensive travels throughout North and South America in healing work have left me with much to share. Some of this information on traditional Ayahuasca healing and on the medicine of Peru is in the Song Words and Explanations E-book. Here there are extensive explanations of the traditional use of these Ayahuasca Songs, traditional teachings and stories, along with the song words translated from Spanish to English. The e-book is also available for download here: Song Words and Explanations

While I was there in Peru these medicine songs were personally gifted to me by a medicine man from the Pucallpa Amazon region. I hope that by sharing these songs that they may reach out to you, to show and help give an understanding of what is involved when working with “La Ayahuasca”. I sing these songs to you with great respect, and from my heart, so that they may heal and reveal to you the medicine that they carry within. These songs tell a story within themselves…
