“Condumbe” (Track 9), This Song is about a man “Condumbe” travelling to other lands. It talks about the land of the people of Africa, and also the land of different peoples, visiting and noticing different customs and traditions. Even with this Ayahuasca medicine we are travelling, going into another realm of awareness, and another sphere within ourselves. It is during this time while on the medicine when one can “travel” with their awareness. This is basically what this medicine is all about, in a way travelling within, and it is about opening oneself and learning, healing and growing from within ourselves, and how we communicate with ourselves, our family members, our friends, and eventually everyone. This song is like a reminder of this.
“Condumbé” is the name of a man of African descent from Buenos Aires, Argentina. Historically many of the slaves from Africa not only came into the USA but also came into Brazil and eventually inhabit other areas throughout South and Central America. The song talks about the land of the Negros, the Black people of Africa, and also the land of different peoples, visiting them and noticing their different customs and traditions. The land is the land of the Gods, the song says, “es la Tierra de Los Dioses”, meaning, “this is the land of the Gods” because it is the Creator who created all. Different traditions have many different deities and they are all sub deities to the main One, they all come from that initial deity as we call it the Creator or God.
Another Realm, Another Sphere within Ourselves...
"Even with this Ayahuasca medicine we are going into another realm of awareness, and another sphere within ourselves as well, and it is during this time while on the medicine when one can "travel" with their awareness."
This song is about Condumbé travelling to other lands and learning the new cultures, their traditions and their customs. Learning even just through observation, observation is so important, noticing the new landscapes and the people with their customs and traditions. Even with this Ayahuasca medicine we are going into another realm of awareness, and another sphere within ourselves as well, and it is during this time while on the medicine that one can “travel” with their awareness. You could say Condumbé was a trailblazer who would travel, he set out to see different parts of the world, different people of the world, and learn, and through this, he would learn about himself. He sees how different others are, and also notices the similarities, he learns through his observation how similar we are to one another. He notice that despite their differences people are basically pretty much all interconnected and interrelated in one way or another. About Songs of the Night Ayahuasca Songs from the Jungle Album
While I was there in Peru these medicine songs were personally gifted to me by a medicine man from the Loretto region. I hope that by sharing these songs that they may reach out to you, to show and help give an understanding of what is involved when working with “La Ayahuasca”. I sing these songs to you with great respect, and from my heart, so that they may heal and reveal to you the medicine that they carry within. These songs tell a story within themselves…Download and Listen to Ayahuasca Icaros on the Songs of the Night Album
