This Ayahuasca Healing Song, “Takikasqu”, is sung in the ceremony to begin the process of healing. Takikasqu brings out the illness from the individual to come forth and out of the body, which creates a healing. It can be sung anywhere between 20 minutes to half an hour after ingesting the Ayahuasca medicine. When you ingest the medicine then you may go back to your space and you can smoke your Mapacha or your “pipa” or your little pipe. The Mapacha is the tobacco that is rolled up in paper, or if you have a pipe you can put it in there. You make the connection with the Ayahuasca at that time as well. The smoking of the tobacco also helps to ease the strong taste of the medicine. After you hear the Song of Wisdom, after a little while, it may be quiet, when all of a sudden out of nowhere you hear this song, the Song for Healing, “Takis ka ku ya kakanqu to kis tapis yara wispay”. This song induces the regurgitation of the medicine, which is part of the healing process in the body. This song brings out the illness from the individual to come forth and out of the body creating a healing.
At this point the medicine will begin to show the individual his or her prayers that they have asked for there. Maybe the person might have a block or difficulty in speaking out, or another may have a lack of confidence or whatever the problem is there. It is not really a problem but a better way of saying this would be more an aspect of life or where a trauma occurred. Whatever we call it, a block, a trauma, the Ayahuasca starts to help. For some it is immediate, it is fast, for others they may retch the entire night. I have seen that happen because the guy said that he wanted to say prayers to heal the world. Instead of just praying for healing for himself. That is also really important to know. When you go into a healing and doing medicine concentrate on yourself first.

Down there with the Ayahuasca medicine, you pray for yourself first, because if you are sick you have to heal yourself first before you can help anyone else.

In the North maybe they could say that this is being selfish but really with Ayahuasca you have to pray for yourself first. You have to be healthy in order to help others become healthy, it is not the other way around. With all the world has been through and is going through, we have a very unhealthy society that is going around thinking that they are helping other people who are unhealthy. So the unhealthy are helping the unhealthy and they are becoming more unhealthy.
Look at the homeless, look at the drug addicts here. It seems almost like the leaders don’t want the common man and woman to become healthy, in order to keep them underfoot. Instead of to rise, rise and live your life and walk your life in the way you want to, the way that you wish and desire.
