The Shaman Song says, “el dolar que tu tienes va le se desaparacer”, meaning the pain that you have, regardless what pain this is, it will disappear and will never return. When we think of pain we think of physical pain but we can have emotional and mental pain, and spiritual pain as well. Those things that bother you and hold you down will never return, once you get cured and worked on by whatever Shaman is doing the work. That is the essence of a true shaman.

Curing our Pain..."el dollar que tu tienes"
When we think of pain we think of physical pain but we can have emotional and mental pain, and spiritual pain as well. Those things that bother you and hold you down will never return, once you get cured and worked on by whatever Shaman is doing the work. That is the essence of a true shaman.

Up here in Canada we call them Medicine men. Shamans are down there in South America, or Siberia, that is where that name comes from. “Curanderos”, are people who cure, it is really similar, but that is more Mexico, Caribbean, and Central America. We call them Behiques where my ancestry is from in the Caribbean. Curanderos, or Curas, Medicine Men or Shamans, it is the same thing. Whatever gift it is that they have, then they help people with that gift.

Actually it is not necessarily the individual Shaman that is helping the people, but rather the individual becomes a conduit for the healing, like a hollow bone. This is how I was told, they become a hollow bone and they say, that energy is not mine, but of creation, of the Creator, I have to move to the side. They say something like, “sometime in my life I said yes that I would do that, and I agreed”. As long as the individual holds firm to that promise that he or she made, then all things will come out positive from whatever work that person does. In this instance it is the work with this medicine, with the Ayahuasca. As they say, “many come to it but very few are really chosen”.

The Shaman helps the individuals in the ceremony but in the end the ones that really heal are the people themselves. That is the thing about healing, it really comes forth into one’s life after the person really lives it and feels it and does the work for themselves. It is true that we all have a healing capacity within ourselves but still, sometimes we need someone to help us with this along the way. That is what the Shaman does for the people.

Basically the “Shaman Song” means that the pain that you have will soon disappear and won’t ever return for the secrets of the Shaman’s magical music will cure your troubles and difficulties.
The things that are bothering you will leave and never come back, The winds of the music of the shaman will take them away, The song of the shaman will heal you. The Shaman’s song will help cure the individual, to heal that individual. That is the end result, is that healing.
